Ministry Projects
At Spirit Fruit our Ministry projects are the soul of our establishment. They encapsulate the heart of Spirit Fruit and our priorities as servants of Christ; as well as our ever increasing desire to love our neighbor as ourselves. With community support we hope to empower our unhoused Chicago community with hygienic services that will help restore self care and dignity among our patrons. Spirit Fruits ultimate ambition is to provide our unhoused image bearers the necessary encouragement to move forward as God leads them to their next season of provision.
Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

Mobile Showers
Hygiene is one of the greatest challenges faced by unhoused and unsheltered people today, and has only intensified since the pandemic began. Due to Covid, many facilities have had to close down their shower programs. Consequently, this left many unhoused people without a means to care for themselves. Rendering many of their pursuits for hygienic service's fruitless.
In addition, the unhoused population are often denied access to bathroom facilities. Leaving them no other option but to relieve themselves in public spaces, or makeshift outhouses located in unhoused encampments. Naturally elevating the risk of cross contamination and the spread of germs.
These conditions among image bearers in the Chicago community is why Spirit Fruit wants to bring Mobile showers and toilets to the unhoused community. We see the struggles of our disadvantaged neighbors and desire to press into their needs. Through mobile showers and toilets we will afford cleanliness and dignity to our unhoused patrons.

Clean Clothing & Hygiene Kits
By providing clean clothing; Spirit Fruit will help the unsheltered in Chicago maintain sanitary cleanliness. Clean undergarments decreases bacteria build up from germs as well as risk of infection. It also reduces the possibility of personal contamination, and the contamination of others. In addition, clean clothing contributes to our goal to provide appropriate apparel in times of inclement weather. Our Hygiene kits are designed to provide our image bearers with suitable hygienic tools to maintain daily grooming should they not have access to a showering unit.

Hand Washing &
Care Villages
Spirit Fruit hand washing stations address a variety of issues among our unhoused populace. Proper hand washing reduces the spread of germs, infection, and cross contamination. Because people routinely touch their eyes, nose, and mouth habitual unwashed hands increase the risk of catching viruses and other carrier illnesses brought on by germs. Spirit Fruit seeks to press into this issue by providing hand washing stations to help mitigate the situation, and promote healthier unhoused encampments. Along with care villages; we expect to work with others in the Chicago area to provide an assistance hub to better meet the needs of disadvantaged image bearers in the community. With support from the community we know we can meet these expectations.
